We are dedicated to empowering the next generation of athletes through Houston Hawks Wrestling. Our mission is to provide the resources, support, and community engagement needed to ensure every wrestler has the opportunity to excel and reach their full potential.

Our Mission

The Houston Hawks High School Wrestling Team is building more than competitive wrestlers—we’re building discipline, confidence, resilience, and pride in our community. Our athletes work hard on the mat, in the classroom, and as representatives of Houston High School throughout Alaska. With the support of families, coaches, sponsors, and our community, we’re creating opportunities for every athlete to compete, grow, and proudly represent the Houston Hawks.

The Houston Hawks Middle School Wrestling Team is where young athletes begin building the skills, confidence, and work ethic that carry them both on and off the mat. Our program emphasizes strong fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the courage to challenge yourself through competition. Supported by dedicated coaches, families, and our community, our middle school wrestlers are developing today while building the future of Houston Hawks Wrestling.

Meet the dedicated coaches driving Houston Hawks Wrestling forward.

Our Leadership

Coach
Brooks Sutter

Head Coach

I've spent years training, competing, and coaching, with a vision to bring high level wrestling opportunities to athletes here in Alaska. My goal is to create one of the toughest wrestling communities in the state, a place where athletes can sharpen their skills, push their limits, and grow in confidence on and off the mat.

Assistant Coach

I'm honored to work alongside Coach Brooks, whose leadership and passion make this program something special.

My background in Brazilian Jiujitsu and No-Gi Grappling has taken me to national and international competitions competing at a high level, but nothing compares to seeing the young athletes right here in our community discover their confidence and strength on the mat.

Volunteer Caoch

I have had a lifelong love for wrestling, starting in middle school and extending through my academic career. As part of Strong & Courageous, I wrestled at the national and international level during high school.

One of my greatest accomplishments is being a dad and it is a privilege working with students of all experience levels - seeing them grow, overcome and succeed.

Volunteer Coach

I fell into volunteer coaching on accident - I started matside supporting my own children's wrestling journey when I saw a need for more volunteer coaches. I'm happy to help out wherever I can and offer a reliable source of support and encouragement.
